New Zealand’s being left behind

New Zealand NZ leads the world in lockdown severity – just ahead of China and Iraq. It is in the top three with avoided covid fatalities but is twenty-third in vaccinations and in the mid-forties out of fifty-three countries with reopening plans.   Meanwhile, NZ businesses exporting to or working within the ten countries of ASEAN in South-East Asia are coming up two years having been severely disrupted by covid and the reopening path for them remains uncertain.  We are still waiting for a green light on the recovery in those sectors stalled or stopped by covid-19.
